Hard Rock Cafe London Old Park Lane

The city that gave the world mods, rockers and the Rolling Stones is also the birthplace of the first ever Hard Rock Cafe. It was here that the first impromptu gig took place – take a bow, Paul McCartney – and that the first iconic T-shirt saw the light of day, and it was here that largest rock ’n’ roll memorabilia collection began. Get VIP priority seating, skip the long lines and feel like a rock star! Highlights - Come to know just why Hard Rock Cafe finds itself in over 50 countries - Step foot inside a dining experience with a difference as you set your eyes over exclusive rock memorabilia - Choose from many menus and pick what suits your taste buds the best The city that gave the world mods, rockers and the Rolling Stones is also the birthplace of the first ever Hard Rock Cafe. It was here that the first impromptu gig took place – take a bow, Paul McCartney – and that the first iconic T-shirt saw the light of day and it was here that largest rock ’n’ roll memorabilia collection began. Yes, this is where it all began back in 1971 when the Hard Rock Cafe brought moderately priced, laidback American fare and warm, friendly service enjoyed in a backdrop of rock 'n 'roll music. The idea may seem commonplace now but at the time it was revolutionary in London. Times have changed but this old classic remains and you can still admire the cafe’s very first piece of rock memorabilia. Like all great revolutions, the Hard Rock Cafe wasn’t meant to succeed. It was 1971 and as the Swinging Sixties had given way to the Super Seventies, fashions and tastes were changing. Two hungry young Americans were in London and couldn’t find a decent place to eat a decent burger… so they opened up a joint in the English capital. Their landlord didn’t think it would last and only gave them a six-month lease. Four decades later, there are almost 200 Hard Rock Cafes in more than 50 countries worldwide. The first T-shirt hit the streets in ‘74 and the first piece of memorabilia came, fittingly, by chance in ‘79 when Eric Clapton asked to hang his Lead II Fender guitar over his favourite bar stool and thus marked it as his spot. Today, the rock 'n' roll collection has more than 74,000 pieces and is the largest of its kind. The London collection is now so large that a separate museum has opened at the Vault, in the old Coutts Bank, with items from Eric Clapton, Sting, The Who, the Sex Pistols and Guns N' Roses among other. By 1982, the Hard Rock Cafe had gone global and the rest, as they say, is history (that’s still being written). Choose one of the following four menus and let the fun begin: GOLD MENU MAINS Original Legendary® Burger Fresh Black Angus steak burger, with smoked bacon, cheddar cheese, crispy onion ring, leaf lettuce and vine-ripened tomato, served with our signature steak sauce and seasoned fries on the side.
