During summer months there is a scenic lake cruise. Travel through the pristine pastoral landscapes of the Alpine foothills towards the lakeside villages of Hof and Fuschl before arriving at St Gilgen (where Mozart's mother was born). This pretty town also sits on the shores of a lake, the Wolfgangsee. Continue along the lake to the spa village of St Wolfgang. Wander through the picturesque streets, admiring the church with its distinct onion dome belfry. From May to October, the tour includes a boat trip on the Wolfgangsee. Enjoy more stunning scenery by Lake Krottensee, passing by Huttenstein Castle and the lakeside village of Mondsee, where the wedding scene in The Sound of Music was filmed at the beautiful baroque Collegiate Church of St Michael.
